Personality

In five words:
BITTER | ARROGANT | LONELY | VAIN | COLD

Relsetic is so very lonely, but his pride and arrogance just won't let him show it to anyone. He instead masks this need under a cold and indifferent front that stems from his bitterness. His pride means that his loneliness is often an aspect he wont accept even to himself, and instead lets his bitter feelings fester and burn at the surface. This means Relsetic can seem cold towards everyone, which ironically can push away the very company he craves, and he struggles to trust because of the experiences he's had of being 'betrayed' by the very family and friends he was close to.

Relsetic is vain, and prides himself on his appearance; his fluffy chest fur being of particular importance to him, and will spend hours grooming and smoothing down the fur. He hates it when his mane gets out of place or any kind of dirt or leaf debris gets in his tail, and can take considerable offence at any who would try and be better groomed or accuse him of not being as handsome as he knows he is.

The emotions he feels can be confusing, as they can often conflict with each other, but deep, deep down he is just sad that everyone he knew cast him out for something he tried so hard at.

Background

Relsetic lived in a small, close community of his family and friends in a Fel village deep in the heart of Hasseran. The community thrived on their loyalty to each other, and the closeness of their relationships. Being a part of that village meant everything to Relsetic, and knowing that he would eventually grow to provide for his family, and the village that had shaped him, made him so happy. He lived to one day impress them all with an achievement that would rival his appearance in greatness. Relsetic was always spoiled by his parents, who knew that their only child was handsome and charming, and by the villagers who also fell for his boyish charm and good looks. This unfortunately created his arrogance and cultured his vanity.

It was while he was still young that Relsetic began to notice his Psymage powers. Sometimes he felt like he could feel an emotion that wasn't his own, or a thought that he hadn't wanted to think, though the voice was like a whisper through water. At first he was confused and alarmed, and didn't tell anyone of these strange occurrences, especially when they began to happen more frequently. If he was concentrating hard enough he could almost hear these whispers, and Relsetic began to train his mind in secret to accept these voices that were not his own. The young Fel worked incredibly hard at his endeavours, and began to understand that what he could hear from time to time were the thoughts of others, and that if he was particularly close to them their feelings could come through too. He would train these powers as often as he could in secret and as he felt them grow stronger he understood that their reach could even go beyond minds; he could affect the physical space around him by way of levitation, though at first it started by simply making things move a fraction.

Relsetic was convinced these powers would impress and amaze the villagers and earn him a place of honor among their ranks. He assumed that he would present the gifts he had worked so hard to achieve and the glory of being truly unique and brilliant would earn their admiration as well as love. However, when he revealed his psymage powers to the village, in a public display, they were all horrified. His powers made him different and that made him scary. The handsome Fel they had all loved and spoiled was something unknown and powerful that they didn't understand. Their ignorance and condemnation killed Relsetic inside, and their decision to cast him out still burns in his heart.

It was always the best sort of day when it was the day for a picnic, Nat thought, as she swung a light brown basket beside her as she walked, enjoying the sun on her skin. She smiled as she neared a small patch of forest; she had heard there were some delicious tasting Appen trees inside this forest. Upon entering it was easy to hear the pretty sound of the wind whispering through the leaves, and she smiled wider. Ah, but of course, it would be a picnic for one... Her smile faded and pulled into a pout.

"You're lonely, you should leave... Just turn around, drop your basket and go..."

A voice came from somewhere... Everywhere?! She had the strange feeling of wanting to leave. No, no, she wanted to stay! And have a picnic! She gripped hold of her basket harder and cautiously looked around. However, after a few steps she felt the little basket tug unnaturally on her arm and she shrieked, throwing it to the ground. It wobbled slightly, and began to rise into the air, while Nat could swear she could hear laughter. After a moments hesitation she finally turned blindly and ran.

"Oof!" The voice of someone being bumped into and falling to the ground registered before she even realised it was her own voice, and that she herself was now sitting on the forest floor. She realised she had bumped into something... soft and... fluffy? She looked up and noticed the grey-blue Fel now standing before her, furiously pushing down the fluffy white mane on his chest. He was so tall, and his tail swished angrily behind him. Nat noticed he was so intent on smoothing down the long fur that he didn't even look in her direction, so she pushed herself to her feet.

"I'm sorry," she said, realising she shouldn't be pegging him as rude since she bumped into him. But the Fel only narrowed his eyes and looked down at her while he continued slowly grooming his mane. For a moment he only stared at her, dislike evident in his expression and she felt awful that she had offended him so badly; clearly he took great exception to young girls hurtling through the trees into him. Then he drew himself up to his full height and flicked the fluffy white fur atop his head.

"You should be." The Fel spoke in a tone that was instantly familiar, as it was dripping with the same venom as the voice from before. Instantly all sympathy was gone, replaced by suspicion. "Crashing through the forest, and trying to steal fruit." He frowned at her, knowing she was catching on, and regretted speaking. Her face was so open it was almost not worth the power to reach out to her emotions with his mind.

"Wait... Was that voice, the voice from before, you?" Nat had heard stories about some Fel with awful powers, but she had never seen one this close up before, let alone spoken to one.

The fel paused in his slow grooming, and placed a hand on one hip. He appeared to be one of few words, instead preferring to use his mysterious and intimidating nature to do his talking for him.

"And hey, wait, I wasn't stealing any fruit. I was going to pick some from the trees." She pressed, growing uncomfortable with his clear green eyes that seemed to see beyond her, and the sensation of having her brain under scrutiny.

"Yes, and they're my trees, my fruit. You're all the same, coming in here and trying to take what's mine." His tail swished behind him again and he crossed his arms above his silky chest fur. "But you're all persuaded and scared away easily enough." The Fel spoke telepathically and grinned a toothy grin, looking very smug indeed, and Nat lost her fear of him. He was clearly arrogant and just used his powers, that she didn't understand yet, for his own personal gain at the expense of others!

"You don't own the forest! It's not fair to do this to people!"

"Not fair? I'll tell you what's not fair; having powers that you trained so hard to get and then being rejected by everyone for them. All I wanted was somewhere to be alone, and all I ever get is people trying to steal my food." His carefully constructed facade seemed to break a little and he waved an arm in the air, caught up in the moment. "So just go." He added, in her head again, dropping his hands by his side. Nat felt conflicted, since she wanted to be angry at his attitude, but he was clearly just lonely and hurt too. Maybe he wasn't as arrogant as he had seemed.

"No, you know what? You have these really awesome abilities, maybe you could show them to me? And we'll go and find my basket back." She smiled and grabbed his furry hands, that felt something like paws, while the Fel frowned deeper. He didn't protest however, and instead just pulled away.

"I might let you have an Appen before you go." Was his reply in Nat's head as he smoothed down his chest fur once more. Maybe it was the best sort of day for a picnic for two.
